Tis the season to be merry ....

So around this time of year I usually look for a Christmas dress.

Something to wear on xmas day and new years day.

And here it is .... DB and I paid a visit to a local Lifeline shop and now I have my dress. We were just popping in for a quick look see and look what I saw. Pretty eh.

And a pretty price too - $7.50.

Now before anyone says I could have gone to a factory outlet and bought for a similar dollar value, let me add for me, part of the joy of thrift shopping is knowing the dollars I leave behind serve a greater purpose.

I love the grandma volunteers, I love the hit and miss nature of what you find.

I love that we also walk out with a $2.50 nude barbie with hair down to her ankles, a wee girls bag and a brand new pair of shorts for DB at $3.00. I love that here small change can make a difference.

It's all good :) le

ps I am officially a recessionista ....

Good buying. Very pretty dress too, I shop regularly at 2nd hand stores - have got all my long pants recently in winter from them, usually at $1-$3 and summer dresses, the most I have paid is $4. I actually find it harder to get the girls clothes there, but found some surfy summer shorts for $3 ( I am lucky mum volunteers at the local one,one of those grandmas you mention! and lets me know if anything interesting is there)

hahahaha. a nude barbie. reminds me of a commentary i read one time about a man who married a woman with a little girl. he wrote about having to get use to naked dolls with large breasts lying around the house.

the dress is adorable.

What an adorable dress! In Texas, you never know what to wear on Christmas or New Years, because it's a crap-shoot as to whether it will be 82 or 28 degrees (farenheit). So I always go for layers...
I'm beginning to start shopping resale shops here. It's hit or miss, but I guess that is part of the fun!

And thrift shopping...don't even get me started because I won't shut up.
Love the hunt, love the find, love the pennies I save.
Thanks for visiting zany life and leaving a comment.
